3D visualization

mediaprojekt your agency
for 3D visualization

We produce high-quality animation films, renderings (CGI), interactive applications, and real-time 3D.

3D visualizations overcome natural boundaries and show details that are not visible in reality. Products still in development come to life. Once created, 3D models can be used in many different ways and provide convincing added value. Whether product visualization, architectural visualization, a virtual trade fair stand or showroom, whether photorealistic or stylized – we are experts in the field of 3D visualization.

We are happy to advise you directly on site in our studio in Bielefeld, at your location, or conveniently remote.

What is 3D visualization?

By 3D visualization, we mean the three-dimensional virtual representation of objects. These can be renderings – meaning static images – or a moving film. 3D visualization is also used in interactive applications such as virtual reality, augmented reality, a digital trade fair stand, or showroom. It represents a perfect way to present your products in the best light and from their best side.

It makes no difference whether these are large machines, small components, architecture, or automotive technology. The objects are either built based on existing CAD data or freely modeled. In contrast to photography or video production, we can omit or adjust details and flexibly change backgrounds and colors.

And: we can show things that a camera cannot capture at all. Views inside machines, cross-sectional views, X-ray views, or exploded views – only 3D visualization can do that.

3D animation: moving images

Whether it is a high-gloss advertising film or a technical explainer film, 3D animations offer you all possibilities. Animations make it possible to present technically complex procedures or processes in a simple and clear way.

As a large whole in construction projects or on a very small scale at the molecular level. Insights into machines, visualization of water flows, or the representation of products that do not yet exist: 3D animations have no limits.

To ensure you find the perfect solution for your company, we are happy to advise and inspire you.

Rendering: The perfect image

3D visualizations instead of photos are called renderings or CGI (computer-generated images). We build your product as a 3D model and can then present it on a stage or in any desired environment.

Once a product has been created, it can be shown in a different environment, a different color, or a different material without much effort. The perspective can also be changed afterwards.

These are advantages that a normal photo shoot does not offer. In that case, each variant of a product has to be photographed individually in laborious work. By the way: a combination with photos is also possible. Do you have a photo in which your product should be replaced or inserted? Just ask us.

3D visualization in interactive applications

Do you want to make your products interactively experienceable for your customers? 3D visualization is also perfectly suited for this. Virtual showrooms where you can present your products and send your customers on a journey of discovery? Or a digital trade fair stand that is open 24/7 to everyone?

Product presentations on the web, where users have the possibility to actively explore or even operate the product? Or a configurator that allows your customers to individually assemble your products?

Everything is possible and much more. In addition to web solutions, virtual reality or augmented reality applications also offer exciting customer experiences. There are countless possibilities that we can offer you as a 3D visualization agency.

Make full use of the potential of 3D visualization

Most companies have CAD data for their products, which greatly simplifies 3D visualization. Once your product has been built as a 3D model, you can use it across the entire media spectrum.

Renderings for print and web, animations, interactive applications, virtual and augmented reality. The effort and therefore the costs for building the model and texturing are only incurred once.

And if, for example, an animation is produced, only low additional costs arise for renderings. In addition, 3D visualization is long-lasting, as updates are possible at any time without having to start the production from scratch.

FAQ 3D visualization

What is meant by 3D visualization?

By 3D visualization we mean the virtual three-dimensional representation
of objects, spaces, or scenes. In practice, these are photorealistic renderings
or animations that present or explain a product.

What is 3D visualization used for?

3D visualizations are used in many areas, for example:

  • Product visualization
  • Animations
  • Architectural visualization
  • Virtual tours and applications such as virtual reality & augmented reality

What are the advantages of 3D visualization?

  • Use of existing CAD data
  • Realistic representation without a photo shoot
  • Flexible perspectives and variations
  • Representation of processes and details that cannot be filmed, for example inside machines
  • Synergy effects: once created, 3D data can be used for animations, print, or interactive applications
  • Sustainability: created models can be adapted again and again afterwards
  • 3D visualizations can replace the creation of prototypes

How long does it take to create a 3D visualization?

The production time depends on the type of project. Are we producing images
or a complex animation? How good is the available data and what scope
does the entire project have? Production time can range from a few days to several
weeks.

What does a 3D visualization cost?

Unfortunately, there is no general answer to this. The effort depends on:

  • Scope and complexity
  • Number of views or scenes
  • Available data

What data is required for a 3D visualization?

Normally required are:

  • CAD data or architectural plans (DWG, DXF, PDF)
  • Photos or sketches of the objects
  • Specifications for textures and colors

My product is still in development. Can I still show it with 3D visualizations?

Absolutely! 3D visualization makes it possible to present products or construction projects even before
production or completion. Perfect for advertising, training,
trade fairs, or presentations.

Are 3D visualizations really photorealistic?

We create images with realistic lighting and material effects that are hardly distinguishable from
real photos.

Can I request changes after the first visualization?

Our offers include at least one revision round. After consultation,
several feedback rounds are also possible.

What output formats do I receive?

Normally we deliver the following formats:

  • high-resolution images (JPG, PNG, TIFF)
  • print-ready files
  • animations (MP4, MOV)
  • for interactive applications, 360° views, VR or AR, the format is selected according to the use case

Can I reuse the 3D data later?

Once created 3D models can be reused for further visualizations, animations, or
print publications.
